CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 18/3/20 10:15am

PEAK are continuing to monitor government and health body advice and are committed to ensuring that the health of our staff and the teachers and children in the schools we work in is our overriding concern.

We currently have 3 staff off work due to cold-like symptoms. 1 of our educator team and 2 apprentices. We would like to wish all three a very big "get well soon" message.

We remain in touch with Sunderland College regarding apprentice tuition. At present time the college is expected to be open on Friday and we expect our Tyne and Wear apprentices to attend. Should the college be advised to close lessons will be delivered through online conferencing.

Many schools have contacted us to inform us that after school clubs have been cancelled due to the government's request for social distancing. Please be aware that there is no need to inform us in advance, simply let your educator know on the day.

Our holiday camps in Easter currently remain on, however we have decided that should schools be instructed to close then this will be cancelled. The host school contacted us yesterday and informed us that the local authority is likely to be holding a deep clean during the Easter holiday which would mean that we have to cancel. We will continue to monitor this situation and inform parents as soon as we are able to make a decision.

The government yesterday announced a range of grants for companies. PEAK will be investigating these grants and should we receive any financial support we will be sharing this back to schools whom we have a service level agreement with for the whole 2019-20 academic year. This will be distributed on a pro rata basis, should we receive any financial government support.

We will continue to keep people update via regular updates on our website and social media.
