Meet the Team 1 - Galina Jewitt
My name is Galina & I joined the PEAK team in autumn 2019 and since then I have worked and shadowed PEAK staff in various primary schools across the region delivering PE and upskilling primary teaching staff through our PECS programme!
A little background about me... dance is my passion and I have danced since the age of 3! Upon completing my dance teacher training I opened a dance studio in the local area which I ran for 7 years alongside my undergraduate degree and primary teacher training! Sadly, however when I began training and working i a primary school I left my role at the studio but still continued to dance in my spare time.
I qualified as a primary school teacher in 2015 and have worked in schools across the region with year groups from Pre-school up until year 6 since in various roles, always coming back to my passion of teaching PE!
In my spare time I love to go to the gym and spend time outdoors catching up with friends, often going on long walks - always for a coffee & probably some cake too!
I am so excited about this chapter working with PEAK & feel it is the perfect accumulation of all my skills and experience! As I was a teacher in my previous career, I am able to see all the benefits engaging in physical activity brings to children such as confidence, determination as well as a better knowledge of a healthy lifestyle! I love how PE can be made accessible and inclusive to all children, and seeing even the quietest of children come out of their shell in sessions to work towards, demonstrate and perfect their newfound skills.
I can’t wait to meet you all soon!
